How many burp cloths you actually need
Three questions. The number it gives you is what sits on the shelf, not what comes in a pack.
Where the number comes from
The arithmetic is deliberately dull: cloths used in a day, multiplied by the days between loads, plus two spare for the ones that are wet or lost behind a chair. Nothing here is rounded up in our favour.
If it hands you a number above thirty, that is the honest answer to the question you asked, but it is usually the wrong question. Past that point an extra wash costs less than another dozen cloths.
